Wink Relocation to Bristol area

Hi,
My hubby and 9 year old daughter may relocate to Bristol, VA or TN area in the near future. Anybody got any suggestions on which public schools are best? He will be working in Cedar Bluff, VA. We are in San Antonio, TX right now but I am originally from Memphis, TN. I have been through the area there and it is so beautiful! What are the draw backs? Advantages? Small town or Big City living? Any info will be appreciated! Thanks!

Default looking for best school info in Tazewell county

thanks for the info, but as it was pointed out, Tri-city area is too far from Cedar Bluff, VA. Duh? DH said what was I thinking? Ok, we will look for house in Tazewell County, VA. Any suggestions on best area for youngin'? LOL!!! I would like neighbors because I am a people person and I don't won't to be too far from civilization. Of course, DH wants just opposite!!! But he will be gone most of the time so his opinion don't matter..j/k!!! Please give me suggestions!!! Thanks to everyone! Hope he gets the job now cause I want to move up there. San Antonio is too hot for me! R

Cedar Bluff has about the best schools around, they are always being recognized for the childrens achievements. The area is wonderful to raise kids as well. Quite and clean, and low crime. There are lots of wonderful people around and plenty of activities for yourself and your child. I hope that helps some. My husband works for the town of Cedar Bluff and we live in Tazewell, but are thinking ourselves about moving closer to his work. My daughter is in private school which is also an option. Good Luck!!

And where do you get that there are only coal miners and hicks in Tazewell county? What is wrong with coal miners, probally make more money then you and if it weren't for them, you wouldn't have any electricity!!! Another thing, there is more money in Town of Tazewell much less the county then you will ever see in a life time! Question: Do you just love to show how STUPID you are by making comments like that?

If your husband will be working in Cedar Bluff, I'd consider Cedar Bluff, Lebanon,or Abingdon?? Tazewell is much different than you may think! Not that there is anything wrong with Tazewell, I have friends that live their, and their school system is good. However, if you are looking for something not so rural, Tazewell, probably will not be it. Bristol is a great place, and it's definetly the more populated, more things to do way to go, but seems a weeeeee bit far to drive to work, from Cedar Bluff. However, if I had to choose, it would be either Abingdon or Lebanon for me, to be right in the center , closer to Bristol, and Cedar Bluff. The school systems in either Abingdon or Lebanon are both very good. Hope this helps.
