Better quality theater should be coming to Lynchburg.

At the risk of being un-PC, given Liberty's less then tolerant stance on gays....who is going to be in it?

No gay men = no theater. Its one of those stereotypes that actually does have basis in fact.

Way to open up the can, Kreutz. Did you consider that maybe there are some effeminate/gay men attending LU? It wouldn't surprise, as pc statistics say that if there are 12,000 in a population, some have to be gay.

Actually, you offend me- insinuating that surely I can't act on stage since I am a heterosexual male. Oh, by the way, white men can't jump.

Maybe we should put the stereotypes away and see how this company performs.

They are hiring people to act and direct a show--not join the cause. LU has no rules against being gay.

You don't have to look very hard on the Internet to conclude that the policies and beliefs of those at Liberty U. are unfriendly toward lesbians and gays.

I agree No gay men= no theater.

I can see orchestra, Christian performers, Holiday events, Gospel, etc. I am sure LU will screen carefully to make sure Gay men are not involved in anyway
in their offerings.

You guys don't have a clue and just embarrass yourselves. They recently did "Hairspray" which is hardly a "Christian" type musical and was made into a film by one of the most OUT guys in show business who did FAR more controversial films back in the early 70's. In case you are unfamliar with the works of John Waters.

There current season has a good selection of plays and not just kid's stuff. I'd expect the pro theater to take even more risks. It won't be Seattle experimental theater but it won't be just pap either.

Because John Waters, an openly Gay man who wrote the play that the LU

theater dept did of his "Hairspray" doesn't mean LU is now accepting of Gay

people. That is a far stretch!!

Now if "Divine" was still alive and he did his drag act on the LU stage then that

would be Big News!!

It is much less of a stretch than your post that it would only be "Christian, gospel and children's shows" and no gays would ever perform. I am very confident some already have and many more will.
