I've heard neither of your concerns have been issues... and as for coal trains, they pass downtown riverfront condo towers frequently (literally feet from the buildings). Having been inside one of the units as a train passed by, I can personally say the noise/vibration is minimal.... surprisingly quiet!

those trains are on a bridge not thumping against the ground, and they are rolling where at Fulton bottom the trains will be switching and slamming against each other at all hours of the day and night . i hope it wont be bothersome but i would hate to invest $200,000 or more to have to live with noise vibration and stink....
