Definately, Lynchburg needs a Fresh Market! I visit the one in Roanoke and I get so frustrated by the long lines/limited staff at check out I hesitate to return! The take out area with the prepared meats, salads, etc can be so slow
it is possible to spend the entire afternoon in the store. Its too bad there aren't more offerings in the area!

I would highly doubt that they would build a Whole Foods here before Roanoke but that would be pretty sweet. I know many people here in Lynchburg who frequent the store in C'ville so I'm sure some sort of organic grocer would do fine here. I've been to the Fresh Market in Roanoke a few time's as well.

Since the mid '90s (beginning with Applebee's on Candlers Mtn. Rd.) there have been a fair number of stores that found their way into Lynchburg before entering the Roanoke or Charlottesville market. I'm hoping for a Whole Foods; more in tune with the Lynchburg market and the things that make Fresh Market attractive, such as the large meat counter and bakery, would drain business from some of my frequently visited specialty shops.
