Hi all,

I would greatly appreciate if someone could point me to the mailing address for Virginia dept of taxation for express mail carriers like UPS, Fedex etc. to file individual state income tax returns. Thanks in advance.

Usually returns are mailed to your county or city Commissioner of the Revenue, Director of Finance, or Director of Tax Administration.

Here is a webpage that may help - street addresses are given for most of these officials.

Where To File -- Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Taxation

I recently received information from the VA Dept of Taxation in Richmond that last year VA joined 20 other states to provide free E-file returns to qualified taxpayers. if your federal adjusted gross income is less than $57,000 you can e-file your federal AND state tax returns for free.

You can get lots more information at their website Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Taxation.

If you don't qualify for Free File, you can still check out 'Fillable Forms' program. That one allows ALL resident taxpayers the opportunity to e-file their state return for free.

I know this doesn't give you an actual street address like you asked about, but it might help on the state tax return issue.

Good luck.

You can drop off your tax returns in person to the Commissioner of the Revenue in the county or independent city in which you reside.
