Hello, I work in Reston VA. I want to live anywhere less than about an hour away, that is affordable. I would prefer a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment, private preferred. My price range would be up to $850-900 utilities included. I have searched on craigslist and found a couple of places. A small city is fine, I know they are less expensive.

Any city recommendations? So far I have see Quantico and Little Washington. I am going to search some more, but I am not familiar with this area, so any tips are great. Thanks in advance.

You will get a lot more responses if you re-post this in the "Northern Virginia" specific forum. Unfortunately, you budget is extremely low. Quantico and Little Washington are very far from Reston--the commute would be horrible.

People more familiar with Northern Virginia may be able to offer solutions. Best of luck.

Quantico to Reston would be a slog.
Generally, look west of Reston for cheaper digs. Here are two from a Loudoun County search of homesdatabase.com :

From Reston, I wouldn't go anywhere near Quantico. Look at Ashburn and Leesburg. Those are to teh west of Reston and you should be able to find something close to your price range. Though 1100 would be easier for a stand alone apartment in Ashburn.
