Exclamation Virginia trying to make the right move this time

I am a single parent with my sons in college. I lived in the Richmond area in the early 90's and came back to NJ because of my father. I don't want the Richmond area again, I want to move somewhere where there is something going, not expensive for a 2 bedroom apt and I can find a job in the administrative field. Please help!

Richmond's changed a lot since the early 90's. I'd recommend at least scoping the area out again when looking at places in Virginia. Good luck.

Unhappy Really!

My girlfriend still live in Richmond and my son and her grandson are good friends. I use to send my son to Richmond for the easter break. But from the conversation that I receive from her it is still the same. As well I found nothing to do there. You really have to be a college student it is more up there alley.

Post I will!

I don't want to be bored while I living in Va. I never tried that area before I will do that for Thanksgiving weekend. Is it expensive to live and how is the job market?

I'm orginally from NJ... why on earth come back to Virginia? !! I've been here since the mid 90's... Northern VA is very expensive... lots of jobs, but you can't afford to live here! As for anywhere else in Virignia... hubby & I have looked. Richmond... nah. Lots of the folks from Northern VA are heading down that way. Roanoke is beautiful but too quiet, and I don't think the jobs pay enough... which I think you will find in Lexington too. We are in the process of looking at Charlotte, NC .... but still leaning toward Dallas, TX. Good jobs, low priced housing... Sigh. I miss NJ!
