Default New Market, Virginia, Internet options

Hi.

I'm a teleworker who's considering buying a house in New Market, Virginia. To work from that location, I would require ShenTel's 10Mbps download service option, which I understand is provided at the address in question (which, incidentally, surprises me, because I used to think that phone lines -- at least copper ones -- could not accommodate such speeds -- but that's another question altogether, I suppose....)

Now, even though the address of the property that I'm considering is
"up in the hills" and remote, a woman at ShenTel customer service says it IS accessible to the ShenTel 10Mbps service.

So far, so good.

Also, my research on the Web SEEMS to confirm this claim (bearing in mind that there are tons of misleading and spammy sites online when it comes to Internet service availability).

So far, STILL so good.

Now, here's the problem:

As much as I'd like to believe that this customer service woman knows what she's talking about, I need some stronger proof than that, because it would be the nightmare of a lifetime to buy a house and then find that it's useless to you because you cannot use it for telecommuting as you had expected to.

So... Can anyone give me any ideas that would help me confirm once and for all if the property I'm looking at in New Market does in fact DEFINITELY have access to this 10Mbps plan from ShenTel?

My real-estate agent is checking with the seller, but they seem to be weekend residents only and have no Internet service themselves.... Other residents of the community in question (Sundance Resort, I believe) say they have "cable" and Internet, but few people can give me specifics.

Thanks in advance for helping me avoid a financial disaster here!

Brian
