I live in the coalfields in Virginia. All getting laid off . Went to sign up for snap the case worker was using
last years income . What does that have to do with now i asked ? No reply .
Was turned down. How did she use last years income for requirements? Have not worked in three months.
I thought they went on what resources a person would have now.

They check to see if you possibly made enough to have stashed some out of thier sight. Plus what sort of assets you have and if you've qualified for unemployment. Also would depend on your living situation.
