Unhappy small town feel

my husband took the test for chesterfield county police dept.
I have been looking for cities in chesterfield county but came up with none
in every search engine.we would have to relocate by june.I have 3 children so I would want a good school district.is there any that still have that small town feel? I would have be living off of a police officers salary so mortgage or rent wise would have to be reasonably low but I don't want to live in a bad neighborhood. is there any houses for under 200,000?

There really aren't cities in Chesterfield County. You would need to search the county. In Va. you are either a city or a county. Cities aren't in counties. I know it is weird... Anyway, there is an area called Midlothian and there is an area called Chester. but search the county of Chesterfield or you can search Midlothian.

I'd suggest maybe looking into Brandermill. Last I looked, there were a few homes in the lower 200's. They have a county club, and are on a huge lake. It's close to I-288 (a new highway) and there's shopping near by too. Good schools as well.

You won't find cities in any county in Virginia because Virginia has an independent city system. School district lines fall along county lines and Chesterfield County schools are generally very good.
