We are a military family moving to VA for a new job at the Pentagon. We have a large family so our priorities may be a little different when deciding where to live. Our top priority is excellent schools (high school and middle school especially), a safe neighborhood would follow and a reasonable commute to the pentagon would be 3rd on the list. Looking to rent around 3000.00 minimum of 4 bedrooms SFH. Any suggestions?

You would get more responses if you'll move this to the Northern VA forum. Unless you're willing to commute one-two hours a day I would consider staying right there in Arlington Co. Keep your commute to a minimum and in a safe area. There are neighborhoods to avoid in Arlington as with every area. I'll let those that live there advise more on those. If you want more bang for the buck you can go to Fairfax. Bgger house and yard for the money. Vienna is a popular town in Fairfax and it has some beautiful homes. The traffic along 123 can get bad but again this is the DMV area so it's expected. There are ways to get in and around Vienna once you get to know the area.
