Default Search for Bubbie

We decided to move South and finally sold our home in Connecticut. We hired movers to help us load the 53' tractor-trailer. Just as you can imagine, the moving crew did not show up. I called the company and they arranged for another crew to be there in the afternoon. We were off schedule about 5 hours and did not finish until 11:00 pm. We went to sleep and got up at 6:00am. Finished packing the vehicles and went to the closing at the lawyers. Traveled and stopped at Weyers Cave, Virginia to get gas and drinks. When I returned to the van I went in and some how tripped the lock when I got out. Locked out of our van with the cat and dog were inside. I called AAA who kept giving me excuses that the locksmith would be there soon. Not until I told them that the animals were inside did someone show up 5 mins. later. This was after 3 hours of waiting! Weariness soon set in so we stopped at a rest area (we think mile marker 156) to let the animals out and take a short nap. The cat had a halter on and you guessed it, he got out. His name is Bubbie, a Siamese (not pure) with de-clawed front paws. He was about 14lbs. (I am sure he is much thinner now). Not being able to rest, we decided to continue our trip because we had to be in Barnwell, SC for 3:00pm the following day. As we continued I thought my husband was in back of me (in a Budget rental truck) when in reality he had gone past me. I called on the CB and asked where he was. The voice came back; I am at the gas station. So I pulled over to the road, put my flashers on and waited for about 30 mins. for him to pass by. No Budget truck! I turned around and went back to the last exit but could not find him. I was in a panic. In reality, he had gone past me and kept going. I didn't know where he was and knew that he was not great with directions. He only had a credit card with him and he did not know my cell phone number. So, I got back on the road and headed for the realtor in Barnwell. I knew he would go there because our appointment was with the realtor before the closing. When I did arrive the next day he was sitting in the office waiting for me with a smile on his face. I looked at him and cried. I was exhausted, scared and sad all at the same time. We closed that afternoon and went to our new home. Two days later I returned to Virginia to try and find Bubbie. My husband thought it was at mile marker 150 but it is not a rest area. Feeling defeated I returned home. After looking at the atlas I have found that the mile marker was 156. I will return to the rest area again, but if anyone has seen him I would appreciate a call. I still here him cry out. Most people would say, "Get over it." I can't just give up. I still feel there is one slim chance. If you have seen Bubbie, PLEASE, call collect at 803-259-5324 anytime or at least point him in the right direction toward SC. Thank you.

I would like to offer a $100.00 dollar reward for Bubbie. We stopped at the Rest stop on mile marker 156 and could not find him. We knocked on some local doors in hopes that he was spotted after 3 weeks but, still no hope. I met a landscaper at the Rest stop and he said he would contact the local vet. Maybe if someone knows anything about him this reward will prompt them to seek him out. Here's hoping still I will find Bubbie.
