Beyond that a lot of the communities have some problems with the soil eroding and water issues. We decided to move west to the Culpeper area. Again, just an opinion.
King George? Ghetto? That's not true. King George, while undergoing a relative population boom, is still a rural county. In the summer, you can drive almost anywhere and see corn. Ghetto would not be a fitting word for my community. Podunk? Maybe. Backwoods? Maybe. But ghetto? Definitely not. If you want ghetto, go to a city. Colonial Beach was really bad about a decade or two ago (I've heard it called "the ghettos of King George") but they've tried really hard to clean it up. And yes, erosion is a big problem in the Fairview Beach area waterfront, however that's the only erosion problem in the county that I've heard about.

I would say not. You're probably thinking of La Plata or Waldorf, MD. Due to the Potomac's influence, really bad storms tend to curve north and really pound Southern Maryland. We haven't had a tornado since 2004, and it didn't touch down.

That describes any area near a military base; ghetto and slummy.

In light, off-peak traffic, it takes 90 minutes from KG Courthouse to downtown DC.

No one has mentioned the new YMCA that just opened in KG, and the WalMart that's now under construction in Dahlgren.
