How is the air quality in Roanoke county? I know it is downwind from WV and the Ohio Valley which have lots of coal plants and refineries.

??
"Downwind"? No. The multiple ridges of the Appalachians funnel air masses N/S - which leads to the wild weather differences that can exist just a few miles apart - I've been in sunshine, comfortable w/shirt & trousers in Blacksburg while at the same time it's been ready to snow @ Radford. Don't forget, too, that the New River flows North - very little development along the section leading into & thru VA. Fantastic vistas along the waterway...

Its good, when I go out to get my paper in the morning the air is fresh and piney, reminds me of the Catskills region of NY.
