Radford is a big time college town and the college is a party school. If you move there don't get to close to the college or you'll be up at all times of the night.

Radford's party school reputation is no longer well deserved. I graduated in 2004 and the University and police really "cracked down" on the party atmosphere apparently starting the year before I started going to school there. Like any college town, you're going to have kids up late having fun, but honestly I'd worry more about "house parties" in Blacksburg.

I graduated in 1997 and I never noticed more parting then at other colleges….but then, I was never a “party dude” either……
But as a non-college student, it is probably better to live a bit away from the campus area anyhow.

I grew up in Radford, move to GA, came back finished school at Radford. Not everyone parties but you can find parties. Just don't live near the college. I love it very much its getting a huge compared to when I was a kid there. My parents live there and I miss it so much. I live in Los Angeles, CA and we are considering moving back to C'ville area we need a little space from family/ Blacksburg is a close commute there are the back roads and stuff. If I could choose to day I would move back to the area. Blacksburg, Christiansburg and Radford are like a little group.
Wish my husband an offer. I am so there. I am sick of LA.

I forgot to tell you about the Foundery in Radford some people think it smells. I think there is a higher blue collar population in Radford.
GOOD LUCK

Hi kiwimike,
I'm visiting Radford in mid October to consider moving to the area in 2 - 3 years. I'd like to hear about your involvement with building the 27 mile bike trail on city property. I enjoy road and mountain cycling and am curious how bike friendly to commuters this area is.
Thanks,
