This summer I will be headed from Columbus Ohio down south to Jacksonville Florida. I will be driving the I-77 route through the Jefferson National Forest. Overall I'd like to know from someone from Virginia where I should pull the stops for something scenic or cool on I-77.

I-77 only goes through VA for about 60 miles. Not much there, although it should be a beautiful drive.

It's a very scenic drive, you pass thru East River Mtn tunnel from WV into Va, be careful between Bland County to Wytheville, it is somewhat of a speed trap. You pass thru Big Walker Mtn Tunnel before you get to Wytheville. Then from Galax to NC line, you will travel down Fancy Gap/6 Mile Mtn. to the NC line, it can be very foggy in the morning. There are several rest areas and scenic overlooks. Wytheville has numerous truck stops and restaurants.

You're cutting across my slice of the Commonwealth. IMO it's the best part of the state. It's very pretty and has a lot of great restaurants.
