So I got a job in Culpeper, VA making 60k/yr. So I was wondering which towns/cities are good for a guy like me to live in.

I just graduated out of college so this is an entry level job. I'm looking for a place with okay cost I'd of living, $1,000 seems to be my max rent per month. I'm from a Boston, MA suburb so I'd prefer a suburban feel if possible. I'd like a gym or some place wherei can keep busy during the free time.

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'd consider Warrenton. Nowhere near what Boston has to offer but it's a decent size, and still affordable town, not far from Culpeper.

Warrenton and Culpeper are terribly slow towns for a young, single guy.

It's further and will take about 45 -50 minutes but Charlottesville has a lot more entertainment and, more importantly, other young people. You'll die of boredom in Culpeper or Warrenton.

Charlottesville, of course, is UVA but there are graduate students and other young professionals there.

Its impossible to get suburban feel in Culpeper/Warrenton. No night life. Not that many singles. Charlottesville is far away.

It's more like an hour but this town certainly offers more.

agree...we LOVE Culpeper with our 6 and 7 year old, however it's not busting with nightlife. I like the Charlottesville idea with UVA nearby and a decent music/restaurant/social scene (for central VA). Don't get me wrong, Culpeper has been great to us (we moved here from Long Island) but if you are willing to commute, C-Ville would probably suit you better.

Bigfoot's probably right about the hour. I am usually traveling opposite traffic, mid-day or weekends.

But it's a straight highway without too many traffic lights.

It appears the OP might not really be looking for suggestions. They haven't been back.
