WOODBRIDGE, Va. -
A big country star opened a huge, new restaurant last week in Woodbridge, Va. But a house rule for the new establishment is roiling some Virginians: no guns are allowed inside.

Toby Keith is not only a hugely successful country star (and actor), he also has personally opened a couple of restaurants, and through other companies, has now expanded those establishments into about a dozen cities.

I don't understand this and I've heard it several times. They'e a private business so what they allow in and out of their establishments are entirely their business and within their rights. Secondly if I was a concealed gun owner I would go in and never tell anyone about my firearm. Are you going to walk in there and announce that you are armed? Just mind your business and they'll mind theirs. The third thing...Toby Keith's name is on it...yeah...but is he actually involved? I doubt it.

Not sure why Toby Keith would alienate his customer base so.

Maybe they'll learn from Cracker Barrel. It's not good to alienate your customer base.

Its private property so of course its their right to ban guns if they want, nobody is stating otherwise. But its also our right to speak out against their decision and/or boycott their restaurant.

And as several have already stated, its a really stupid decision from a business standpoint. Its the equivalent of Starbucks banning iPads.

Who in the world takes a gun when going out to dinner? Sheer silliness. Are there that many paranoid/delusional people in our country?

Businesses that serve alcohol are a little leery of the gun toting. Buffalo Wild Wings has a similar stance. This seems like a non issue to me. That's their decision and it's not impeding on anyone's rights. If you honestly think you are unsafe in that area, so much so that you need a gun, then you have other issues.
