I am curious what is your favorite interstate highway to drive on in virginia? I know this might be a silly question, but I am just really curious. And why is it your favorite?

I'll go first:

Mine is I-95 because it has SO MANY rest stops and cafes and restaurants off of it, and that is very good for me because I usually need a snack/meal every 2 hours. I also love I-95 because it is one of the few interstates in virginia if not the only one, that is not sparse at all and its pretty sunny and you can see everything around you. The only sparse place o I-95 is from fredericksburg to ashland, and I actually also LOVE that part as well even though its sparse because its also kind of deserted in that area not much traffic in that section.

Also I once tried I-81 over I-95 one day because may people here recommended it and I was excited and thought I would love it, I herd one person fell in love with that road and wanted to move anywhere along I-81 in VA, so I thought I would LOVE it, but BOY I WAS WRONG. I hated it. First of all there is a huge lack of rest stops, hotels, and cafes compared to I-95 and it just seems BOORING and takes forever it is LOONG and not much scenery. It is just very sparse locked in by mountains, and there is less sun, and you can not see whats happening off the road and any buildings. Just BOORIG mountains. I-81 is like HELL for me.

Sorry guys but I have to say I LOVE I-95 the best in VA.

I prefer Route 17 myself. I take it around Fredericksburg off of I64N to get to I81 when driving to PA. It's rural and goes through some very pretty landscapes. Plus it has a couple of Sheetz gas stations on it. I66 is along the way it's nice as well.

I hate I95 just like I64. It's always jammed and full of speed traps.

Well, 17 isn't an Interstate.

Honestly, I think most interstates are pretty boring. I think the prettiest listed is I81, but I have the volume of tractor trailers.

I-77 from N.C. State line to Wytheville is the best Interstate driving experience in Virginia IMHO. You have the beautiful 6 mile Mtn to come up plus its a Great road to drive on as far as speed and handling.

Just be careful in the fog.....

From Wytheville to WV tunnels could be considered and IS a speed trap...

As far as driving any road in Virginia, Claypool Hill to Grundy on U.S. 460 is the ultimate drivers road.

A road is a road as far as I'm concerned.

I never said it was the answer to a question. Please don't put words in my mouth. Please and thank you in advance.

Look, the original poster asked a specific question. That's what they wanted an answer to. You picked a completely different answer. Your post, in no way, answered the OP.

While I think I-81 is the most scenic of the above choices, the truck traffic makes it unnerving most of the time. I-77 would be a close second.

I picked 64.

But my favorite is US 15. Though not technically part of the Interstate Highway System its still a road that runs through several different states so I'm going to count it.

Route 81 used to be really good but its gotten so jam-packed full of trucks its almost unbearable now.
