the biggest fear to relocate???
I was wondering about all of us people ,who want to move somewhere...for different reasons...
What are you afraid of the most? Does the fear prevents you from actions?
I am very afraid me and my child will be isolated for a looong while, before we find "good" friends...
Friends dont come overnight......I think this is my worst fear!
what about you guys?

I moved around alot as a child. Kids are very resilient, and your child will probably make friends even before you do! You might even make friends with the parents of your child's new friends. I met many of the friends I have now because they are the parents of my children's friends.
Change is scary, that's for sure. If you feel that the move is the right thing to do, you'll end up okay. Good luck!

Money. Being able to transition into a new job in a place where everything costs three times as much.

Fears.............
I would have to say my biggest fear is: the loss of good health and health care insurance. I've had my present employment for 36 years and am taking a big drop in pay and benefits to achieve serenity and calm in Montana in the next year. Second is the loss of easy access to my best fe. friend and soul-sister, whom I will be leaving behind.

Biggest fear? Racism...something that most of you (assuming you are white) don't have to give a second thought to
It must be nice to simply look on a map and say "I think I would like to live in this sleepy rural town" or in the mountains of Montana, Utah etc., but as an African American, before I move I always have to worry about the racial make up of a city, how long has it been diversified, is the leadership concerned with equality issues, etc...it is truly tiresome...

Fear for my children. I have no fear for my husband or myself--but for my three children I worry about their safety. I worry about them mentally, physically, emotionally and spirtually!

I have a friend who frequently travels and recently settled in Italy. She says the difference for African Americans living here and out of the country is like night and day, generally, Black Americans are treated better abroad. I would like to stay in my own country though as I find the land absolutely gorgeous and I've never been out of the U.S., but it irks me that the safest places for a black person to live without the possiblity of being molested are the farthest away from nature. I am sick to death of looking at concrete

I just relocated to Richmond
Relocating is a new adventure. Even though I have met a few people. I really feel kind of isolated. It is going to get better

I feel the same there should be a place somewhere in this country we can live and not have to worry about being accepted.
