Hi, I am considering moving to Williamsburg to attend William & Mary Law School, but am a bit wary because of all the talk of rising crime rates...does anyone know which areas of Williamsburg (near the University) are safest (I am a single 23-year old woman, and I would be living on my own). Thanks in advance.

The area around W&M is very safe (and beautiful). My son graduated 2 years ago and he lived off campus in two different nearby apartment complexs and they never had a problem. I don't remember off the top of my head what they name of the apts were but there were a number close by.

Here is a link to a crime report from the William & Mary website for campus crimes http://www.wm.edu/ir/campussecurity/..._stats_web.pdf I am a local and feel the crime rate especially in a the area around the campus within a 3 mile radius is extremely low compared to most other areas in the U.S.
