Roanoke Plaza/Wyndham Hotel sucks
I stayed there last weekend. Instead of having a nice indoor pool to swim in that we were looking forward to, we were informed upon check in that the hotel was under renovation and that the advertised indoor swimming pool was closed. And while many hotels offer free wireless internet this hotel charges $10 a day. The room did not appear to have been dusted anytime in the recent past, the thermastat for the heater was broken and hanging down, the cordless phone (again, as advertised) was not, and was instead a regular phone with a frayed cord. We heard someone struggling to get into our room and upon opening the door found out that the idiot at the front desk that checked us in, not 5 min. before gave another guest the same hotel room! Also, the hotel appeared to be running at about 5% occupancy and yet they put us on the floor with the broken ice maker. To add insult to injury I was double-charged on my debit card for the stay from first the travel website I booked it through and then by the hotel!
I will never stay at this hotel again.
