Hey! Having been born and raised in Richmond I know both of these areas very very well. Glen Allen is a nice area and so is Midlothian. If I were you I would choose Midlothian over Glen Allen. Midlothian is located in Chesterfield County, as Glen Allen is located in Henrico County. Chesterfield has much lower taxes and the school system is very good. If you say price is not a problem definatly check out

Brandermill is one of the top places to live in the Richmond area and the commute to town is fairly quick since your close to major highways such as 288 and Chippenham.
