Were are you from originally? People here have an especial distrust of “Yankees”. They might not even realize this themselves because it is so deeply rooted in the culture….especially if you are from Massachusetts…

Interesting Jerry,.....I recently purchased a place in Elkton,....and so far have not had one encounter with anyone being distrustful of me. Have even been doing some consulting work in the area after simply emailing some companies.

Is your statement a 'general' statement? Or are there certain areas that are worse than others?

I would say both
I would say I have found a general distrust but areas like Farmville and Lynchburg this is the norm. Not really the same in Roanoke or Charlottesville.

Well, I've been living and working in the greater WASH DC area (DC/MD/N. VA) for about seventeen years, but I'm originally from the East Asia, so, I may not be labeled as "Yankee", and yes, I now live in Roanoke (SW)...
