Default State may ban truck nuts and car testicles

Va. Considers Ban on Genitalia Displays
By BOB LEWIS | Associated Press Writer
5:14 PM EST, January 15, 2008

RICHMOND, Va. - It's one thing to dangle fuzzy dice from a rear view mirror, but decorating a trailer hitch with a large pair of rubber testicles might be a bit much in Virginia.

State Del. Lionel Spruill introduced a bill Tuesday to ban displaying replicas of human genitalia on vehicles, calling it a safety issue because it could distract other drivers.

Under his measure, displaying the ornamentation on a motor vehicle would be a misdemeanor punishable by a maximum fine of $250.

I was hoping someone would come out with an accessory device with an attachment that looks like a boot or a boxing glove and allows the driver to maneuver it to knock out the nuts from the car in front...

I saw 'truck nuts' for the first time last week and yeah, it was a distraction. I couldn't believe I was seeing what I thought I was seeing so I followed the truck to make sure, then I called my husband who confirmed that there really are yahoos out there who take the initiative to go into a store and pay money to buy balls to attach to their cars. There are no words ...

Default Current Craze

I am never surprised anymore what comes out of Richmond. From a ban on baggy pants to traffic tickets that impose huge fines but not on out of state drivers! I really think these evangelical good ol boys who run the state house are really smokin' something other than Marlboros!

I find it offensive, what's next, rubber vaginas in the back window?
But I do agree the fact VA has to spend money on regulating this is frustrating.

I dont think that they are in the best taste and I myself wouldn't want them hanging from my truck,...BUT does the state have the right to tell you what you hang from your trailer hitch? if it is a distraction then what about those boat propellers that are placed on the hitches. as I said I wouldn't want one on my truck but I dont want the govt telling me what I can and cant do....period, let the cojonnes hang and get on to stopping crime. what comes to mind here is the cell phone laws, nothing about eating ,changing the radio or putting on makeup....just stop crime and let the individuals rights alone!

The whole thing reminds me of the Seinfeld where Kramer sues Elaine's friend for walking down the street in a bra. The same arguments were made--it's offensive, it's distracting, etc.

I'm far from a prude, but I do draw the line on this nonsense. Too bad it takes a law to tell these people not to hang anatomically correct things on their cars and trucks. Maybe the gov't can do something like they do with trading in guns for gift cards. These people can trade in their plastic genitals for some grey matter.

With all of the serious issues affecting our state, people are actually okay with our General Assembly spending time on this?
