Default Where to Live in Virginia?

I read the thread that told us the necessary questions. I will do my best to answer them.

I am a young 22 year old, who just graduated from college. I am with a great man. Both of us do not have jobs that we would like to puruse, just jobs to get us through college. I am looking for moderate priced houses, preferablly small cottages. I would like a relativley short commute, but would travel up to 45 miuntes, longer if it was the *perfect* job. Housing prices will be in proportion to my salary. I would like my children to go to public school. I want to live in a country/suburb area. I woud like enough room for a small-medium horse farm. Distance between neighbors, but not miles. I would like a community gym, but ameniteis are not vital. And lastly, pie.

Just to clarify, you said you graduated from college...it might be helpful to state what your degree is and what type of job you want. I would use the search feature and look at the posts on Franklin County...especially Sean Pecor's since you mentioned horses. FC would allow a commute into Roanoke. What would you consider a moderate priced house?

Based on what you have said, I can't imagine anywhere else in Virginia, or even the southeastern U.S. for that matter (I've been everywhere in the southeast too) that would even come close to being as good a fit as the Roanoke area.

Sarah,

A couple other options, would be Amelia, Powhatan, New Kent & Varina. All of the areas I just mentioned are at least 15-30 minutes outside of the Richmond area. This way you would have access to very good job opportunities and still have the luxury of enjoying the privacy of your own home and land. Just a thought.

Thank you to all who have replied. I overlooked stating what my degree was. I am a veterinarian, while he is looking to be a physical therapist.
