My baby will be in 4th grade in a eastern Henrico county school. She is excited about learning Spanish but Henrico doesn't teach it until 7th grade. I may need to find her a tutor if we stay in this area. Other than that I'm pleased with the public schools.

How are Woodbridge public schools doing? Are there any schools to stay away from? For instance I would never place my child in Richmond city schools especially the ones closest to me due to violence and a lack of resources.

My child is also in the gifted program where she is taken out of class and learn some subjects at a more advanced level. Do the schools in Woodbridge offer a gifted program?

Woodbridge schools have a bad reputation in NoVa. Then again, they're not so good by NoVa standards. Overall the schools in henrico county are slightly better than Prince William county schools I believe. Stay away from schools in the Garfield High a School and Potomac pyramid. Look into the lakeridge area of Woodbridge. Family friendly area and good schools too

I would also suggest looking into Forest Park HS and its feeder schools.
