My husband and I bought a house in Naples earlier this year. I decided to change my driver license to Florida from Virginia. For the first few months, we traveled back and forth between Florida and Virginia. Then I decided to stay in Florida with my mother while my husband is working in Virginia. In May, I found myself a job so I worked in Florida for less than 3 months. The assignment was over in less than 3 months, so I decided to go back to Virginia. I think I may have a dilemma because I am now in Virginia and planning to study for a real estate license in Virginia but I still have a Florida driver's license. What do I need to do? Could I have a duel state licenses? We are planning to go back to Florida in December this year.

No... You can not have "duel state licenses". From what you said, I would recommend you get a Virginia State Drivers License.

Technically you need to obtain your VA license within 30 days of moving here. If you are definitely going back to FLA soon then I likely wouldn't. But this can cause other issues as well.

Does the real estate license matter? To me it seems you just need to decide where you're declaring your permanent residence, i.e.- spending most of your time.

You're obviously best off declaring it to be FL. You're going to pay more in almost every way by being a VA resident compared to a FL resident.
