Default Tappahannock

A friend is considering moving to Tappahannock, and having daughter attend St. Margaret's. I do not know much about this area, except that there are not a lot of stores (they are fine with this, they live in rural Vermont). Would love to hear the pros and cons of this area.

It looks like a charming historic town, but it also looks like the town has high crime stats. Do you think it is a safe place for a single woman and her daughter? Is real estate reasobly priced, and are there any places you would recommend or warn against? Have you heard anything pro or con about the school? Etc. Etc.

Basically, SMS is a boarding school affiliated with the Episcopal Church. Mom wouldn't have to move if she didn't want to. Tell you friend and her daugher to go for a visit. This is the only way to know if it is a good fit.

Hello,I was born and raised in Tappahannock. It is a very nice place. No, it doesn't have a lot to offer but,it's mostly a quiet area if you get a place in the outside areas. Alll except Battery, you would want to stay away from there. For the most part, people mind their business and stay to themselves. It is an easy area to fit in, unlike "big cities" where you have to kinda find your own thing and be an outcast until then. I am currently trying to make a move back down there. So, I would recommend it as a place to make home.
