Lived briefly in C'ville during the summer of 2004, for medical treatments, the medical care there is top notch. During my stay the town itself was not crowded, due to students being away, so while I was able to get out and do things enjoyed seeing many places in that area.
My housing was there in C'Ville, about one mile from the hospital. I have only good things to say about my experience there in terms of the quality of healthcare. There are many things to do and see in the town, you won't be let down. |

My parents, formerly of NC, sold their home and moved to Crozet (just west of Charlottesville). They said they pinch themselves every morning when they wake up since they look at the beautiful mountains. The trick was getting their home sold in NC to buy one in C'ville. I can tell you more about the community they moved to if you want. They would probably even be OK w/you calling them about their experience but I would have to check first.
I must say that I'm sorely disappointed in the lack of recycling in the county of Albemarle. We are supposed to be such a progressive town, yet the county of Albemarle has not done curbside recycling (they currently only take paper and call it recycling while all the plastic, glass, etc. fill up the trash cans) in years. I know plenty of people who feel very strongly about it but not much is being done. The Rivanna Waste Authority claims that it is too expensive to recycle but I have yet to meet someone who would not pay more to have curbside recycling instead of one place for everyone in the county to drive their recycling to (and burn up fossil fuels in the process). ![]() Very diversified as far as religions as well and have only met one person who feels the need to convert others. |
