Since Governor Mc Cauliffe has vetoed a discriminatory anti Gay bill dubbed as "religious freedom" similar to NC's bill, I
feel it is inconsistent in his position not to send a message discrimination of any kind is not acceptable in VA.

Yet none of these offended companies threatening NC seem interested in boycotting business in the Middle East, do they? The Islamic countries are rife with offenses against gays.

The governor is very welcoming of businesses owned by countries that treat their citizens far worse than any state does here in the U.S. How about Cuba?

Would governor Mic welcome investment or visiting to Cuba? Maybe he can hold an upcoming conference there in Cuba to support the overthrow of Castro.

No matter what your personal prejudices dictate toward a particular minority in the U.S., discrimination is not acceptable here.
No way around the issue.

Honestly, the Middle East is a religious part of the world, so they don't know better. The US is a secular country so any state should know better. Governor McAuliffe already vetoed a similar bill in Virginia, that's good enough for me. Plus the way things are going there won't be much business to go to in NC anyway.

TN is getting ready to sign a similar bill soon. NC & TN have been attracting good paying jobs of which VA has been competing.
I hope the Governor can work his magic to persuade these potential new industries to come here, especially in the southwestern,
southside and central parts of the state.

Unless you discriminate against those who do not agree with you, huh? Maybe your governor does not discriminate against anybody. 27 other states have similar laws to North Carolina. If we do business with the companies of those states alone and we are the 9th largest state in population so I think we will have plenty of people to do business with. Since that leaves only 23 states that do not have these laws, what if we decide to start boycotting businesses located in those states. Boycotts are dumb and never work. But enjoy badmouthing our fine state.

If the only thing you can find fault with North Carolina is that we don't allow communal showering of people in different genders, I am not going to be concerned with any business lost by it. No company that is worth its salt is going to find a problem with common sense laws in a state. Why doesn't Virginia want to protect its women and children? You seem to have an awful lot of young girls disappearing. Maybe you need to think about protecting them better.

To help persuade businesses to come to Virginia vs Tennessee or Texas, the governor might want to ease up on the corporate tax rate in the state and reduce some of the restraining business requirements. There is a reason that Texas leads the nation in private job growth and its not the weather.

If the governor supports $15/hr minimum wage, then any new business moving into the state would be unlikely.

I am glad the Governor has recognized these issues but he cannot seem to persuade the backward thinking members of the
General Assembly to become more business forward. At least for now we are not headed down the road of no return like
NC and their homophobic citizenry.
