Reckless driving...failure to maintain control
I was leaving school the other day in the rain, it was the day after a big ice storm in my car, 89 vette 6spd RWD about 365 torque, my tires are almost completely bald on the back maybe 1-1.5 32nds of tread, id been saving up to buy one more tire. anyways in middle of the intersection where there is the most centrifugal force I gave it a hair to much gas by accident and the back end drifted around, i corrected the car and stayed in my lane, and no other cars were affected. the cop coming the opposite way down a divided 4 lane road, cut people off to wait to get behind me, then he pulls me over a mile later and gives me a reckless:failure to maintain control, and faulty equipment(tires).to me that seems a little excessive to give someone with a clean record under the given circumstances. anyone have any experience or advice with this sort of thing? also any good lawyer suggestions in the cville area?
