I have a job opportunity in Chester, VA. I am newly married so my available money to spend on housing is probably around 150,000...not much...but I'm not looking for anything too large. I am very much an outdoorsman (hence my screen name) who likes the small town feel, but I also like to get out on the town on occasion. I wouldn't mind a 25 minute commute or so to Chester, but not more than at least 15 minutes from a developed area (Wal-Mart, etc). What I really want is a safe, family-friendly community or a safe place in the country. All that being said...

I guess the reason I'm posting is I'm looking for suggestions for areas near Chester to scope out that fit this bill. Any help would be appreciated.

Smile Sandston va?

Hello! Not sure if you are familiar with home prices but its hard to find anything for under $150k in the richmond area. But my sister lives in a nice neighborhood in Sandston Va (about 15-20 mins via I-295 to chester). The house beside her is for sale at like $130k. They are about 15 mins to a walmart but a new shopping center with tons of new shops to choose from is being built about 5 min. from their house. The neighborhood they live in is mostly white middle class very hard working individuals. If youd like more info about where they live Private Message me and I can send u a link of the house forsale beside them. Good luck!!

Default Relocating to Chester, VA

Hi! I love Chester, VA. I lived there for 5 years. Lived in Richmond for 7. In Chester you have everything near by; Movie theater, Target, Restaurants, Police Station, Fire Dept., Walmart, Ukrop's Supermarkets( The best Supermarkets in Virginia-I worked for them for 4 years in my late teens to early 20's. They have a beautiful family history. In fact, Jim Ukrop's, gave me my one recommendation that gave me my first teaching job in Richmond after I finished my BA in Education.) I own a house in Chester. I bought it 7 years ago. Now, I live in Ft. Wainwright, Alaska, my husband will be deployed in Sept. to go to Iraq. Chester is a small community, quiet and friendly. Nothing is to far from Chester. Richmond, Chesterfield Co. Midlothian. As far as finding a house contact my realtor, Courtney Wells, her office is in the heart of Chester, wellsrealty@juno.com, she'll help you find a home. Tell her I recommended. If you have any more questions feel free to write me NahPer5@aol.com Best of luck!!!!!!!!!!!
