It will be great not to have to spend a fortune in gas for to get to those places. I looked up Apple Blossom mall-compared to Southgate mall here, that's a real mall, not a series of stores that share a roof.
It's all relative!
One more question- can you actually drink the tap water?
That would be nice!

Ehhhhhhh I don't know...... Tap water is extra-ordinarily hard around here. I make coffee with it but don't typically drink it. I doubt it tastes all that good....

Can you??? Yeah I suppose..

I just have one of those little water coolers and buy the 5-gallon reusable jugs every few weeks. Problem solved...

Yeah, here too. They don't call this area the "kidney stone belt" for nothing!
Too bad.
I even give my dogs Le Bleu to save on the vet's bill!

Haven't heard anything about a Y coming here.

Winchester has a city part, Winchester City and a County part, Frederick County. The taxes are lower in the county. There are lots of subdivisions and lots of homes with property also. The house prices are good now. Winchester is getting crowded and there are lots of new stores and restaurants coming or have come recently.

There is also a personal property tax that you will have to pay for any cars, boats, etc.

Salaries? Depends on your career..but the salaries are pretty low here. A lot of people commute to other areas for work. It really depends on what field you are in.

As far as the weather...it certainly is warmer than Vermont..but we have 4 seasons and it gets cold in the winter and hot in the summer.

As a rule, I never drink tap water, but I suppose you could drink it if you wanted to.

People always ask about good doctors and dentists and there are good ones. Winchester Medical Center is a great hospital. But I would imagine the doctors and dentists you have options to go to would depend on your insurance. There is only one pediatrician in our area that's under my insurance. But that doesn't mean there aren't more under others insurance.

I don't do daycare, but other people do and I know there are lots of options.

We are happy here.
