Moving near Fort Belvoir? Need advice (Burke: for sale, to rent, homes)

Hi,

We are moving from Hawaii and my husband will be working on Fort Belvoir but we are not military. He will be driving.
I need advice on where to rent/ buy for about $2500 a month. Looking for a 4 bd. 3 bath. We have three children, two going into pre-school (twins) and 1 in Jr. High. so we are very concerned with the school district and the surrounding area.

Can anyone recommend the best family friendly areas? Looking at Faifax county.

I would suggest Burke as an area to look into. The schools are great and the ride to Belvoir shouldn't be bad. I would suggest a search for Burke threads on here and you should find lots of info.

I would also suggest the Northern VA forum as it will have more information on the areas around Fort Belvoir etc posted there. If you are not familiar with the web site militarybyowner.com that site has homes to rent as well as for sale.
