Default Massanutten

What's up with all the houses for sale in Massanutten. It's a great RCI resort area with nearly 1000 homes in several different subdivisions, but it seems like a VERY large number of these houses have been offered for sale in the past year or so. Is something wrong with the area? Is there some big plan afoot to be built nearby? Or is it the threat of bird flu given the unbelievable number of turkey farms in the area???

I don't know if there is any one reason but maybe a combination of a few things. Most of the homes are older and, with many nice new subdivisions being built, I think a lot of people are moving to newer homes. Also, there was a water park built at the resort which some people weren't really happy about so that could be another reason.

I have some co-workers who just moved there (two bought, one built) and they love it.

Default little late for this info, but i'll post it anyway.

The main reason so many homes are for sale is the big debate on the short term rental homes. People who have a house that they rent out to vacationers on weekly or 3 weekend leases. This has caused a very big split in the community and any time that your community is in the spotlight it is bad for real estate. Plus alot of people felt that great eastern is taking over and are worried that it will become more and more touristy than it already is.

and that's the 411
