With those two locations, I would look into Charles County (waldorf area) - You can get to Bolling via Rt. 210 (Indian Head Hwy) fairly easily and he can get to Andrews going up Rt. 301 North. That would be a happy medium. Public schools are OK - You would probably need to move further from your jobs to get better schools.

Thank you. We were thinking about Alexandria or Fairfax county. We heard the schools were good there.

Yes but the commute from there would not be good...You would have to go over the woodrow wilson bridge and that is a nightmare! Good luck in deciding.

We drive from Alexandria (in Fairfax County not Alexandria City) to Bolling and the commute is really not all that bad. The Wilson Bridge moves quite well 90% of the time in our experience. We do go in early so that helps but most of our co-workers arrive about 7:30-7:45 and do fine. Every so often we have a longer trip home but the worst part is on 295 getting on to the bridge and they are working on that area. We live in zip code 22315 but many of the areas in other Alexandria or Fairfax County neighborhoods are an average of 30 minutes to Bolling. Andrews is another 7miles or so away so a bit longer but not bad. We lived in Burke the first time we were here (kids in school that time) and that is another very popular area for folks heading to Bolling and Andrews as well. It is a bit farther away but very family friendly as well.
