Williamsburg or surrounding areas (home builders, contractors, salary)

What are Finish Carpenters averaging around there. I've been doing Carpentry for 15 years, 8 years of Finish in new residentual homes. Most of the time the homes are surrounding Golf Courses and I see they are a lot of nice golf courses down there! Any Info would be great!

i don't know salary range. i do know GOOD tradesman can earn a living. New cosntruction is slowing a little, but still fairly strong. The custom homes in golf course communities slowing fastest. Homes here in places like gov land, kingsmill and ford's colony are about 15-20% higher for exact same new home in other areas, just because they are in James City County. Most finish carpenters don't live here unless they have been in JCC for a long time. Commute to gloucester, suffolk, even mathews. more affordable.

if you have your own tools and are reliable and have references go to the yellow pages online and call all the contractors and home builders and find out about jobs and wages.
