Using Virginia EZPass in other states (Chesapeake: DMV, live in, costs)

I live in Virginia and have an Virginia EZ Pass account. On December 25 and January 1, I travelled to Philadelphia and came back on the same date.

There are toll stations in Maryland and Delaware, till today, only Delaware toll transactions (one on December 25 and the other on January 1) show up on my account, nothing from Maryland toll stations. It has been more than 10 days since December 25 trip. I had travelled to NYC before, and I don't think it takes so many days for out-of-state toll transactions showing up on EZPass account, usually less than 3 days.

There are at least two toll stations in Maryland (during my trip): one is Baltimore tunnel, the other is on I-95 (when exiting Maryland), but I don't see any transaction, does Virginia EZ pass works well with Maryland toll stations?

We live in VA as well and have also traveled to Philly many times with our EZ Pass. Also crossed the Chesapeake Bay Bridge many many times going to Ocean City, MD. Never have had a problem with any of the tolls. I have never checked our account to see how quickly the tolls took to be charged against it. I would not let it bother me.

For me (using NJ ezpass), out of state transactions routinely take 10+ days to hit the account. I track this, as most of my trips are business related, and I try to batch tolls w/ their associated trips. DE and MD seem to take the longest for me, for what its worth.

10+ days? Thanks, I will check again in a few days. Delaware tolls show up in less than 3 days.

Here are some recent examples from MD... after looking through my report, most are 2-3 days, with a few that take longer. Earlier I said "routinely take longer" so that isn't necessarily true, but some do.

EZ Pass works with no problem anywhere that a state uses it (Sun Pass in Florida) the only place that you get sc***ed with it is NYC. They have certain bridge/tunnel crossings where EZ Pass users from outside the region are charged the same rate as someone who runs the toll and they have to track down through DMV, you are paying the normal toll plus the additional costs and that is wrong.

Giving a discount to the locals is fine but penalizing those from out of state goes against everything that the program was set-up to accomplish.

I don't have a EZ Pass. I receive Tolls by Mail bills. The Maryland bills are four plus months late.

Don't worry, they will find you and bill you!

I have a Virginia E-ZPass (live in Maryland, though). When I travel to see family in NYC, I'm charged immediately and my account gets replenished via the auto-refill option I've setup.
