Moving To Herdon (Reston, Herndon, Fairfax: attorneys, movie theater, high school)

ey, i'm 15, starting high school next year, n my parents r planning to move 2 herdon after the school year ends, somewhere in fox mill estates, in oak hill herdon, right now we live in chantilly, so i would like 2 kno a bit more about herdon, for me, i would like 2 kno if it has a lot of things to do, movie cinema, shopping centers, malls, gyms, n i also would like some feed back from people living in herdon, o yeah n which high school would i be going 2? oakton or herdon high school? plzz help

Most likely, you'd be going to Herndon High, although they might have changed the zones. Fox Mill shopping center is within walking distance. There is a Giant grocery store, pizza place and I see lots of teens hanging out there. I believe there are also some outdoor sports facilities like soccer, basketball and softball, maybe even tennis. You'd have to take a bus or catch a ride to get to a movie theater. Closest would be either Reston Town Center or Worldgate. There are gyms at both places. Herndon, in general, is probably 25% latino, 20% Indian/Pakistani, 20% african american and 35% caucasion (either good old country folks or rednecks). If you had a car then you could get around pretty good. In fact, I think if you head South then you'll hit Fairfax and Fair Oaks where you'll have more options.

I think Fox Mill estates will be going to South Lakes in Reston, but Fairfax County has a website where you can enter the address and it will give you the schools, just google fairfax county schools and you will find the site. I don't know where the previous poster got their ethnic figures, but I wouldn't call the caucasian people (which includes attorneys and physicians) that live there "country folks or rednecks".
