Hi, I'm on my way back to VA after living in FL. I'll need a 4 wheel drive and would like to know if they are cheaper in FL or VA right now. I'd prefer a car but don't know what kind to get or what is good on gas mileage. Any suggestions?

For cost analysis you would be better served to look on line. If considering a used vehicle Carmax is in both states and you can view there listings nation wide. Plus if you bought from them you could take advantage of the warrenty.

You said "you need a four wheel drive" , is this due to locality or just personnel desire? Depending on the use/purpose would drive which model(s) to consider.

Subes are a good choice if you need AWD capability. Unless you're doing serious mountain driving or planning to own a home with a very (!) steep driveway then 4WD/AWD is really just a comfort option. I went years in Vermont (read: real snowy winters) with front wheel drive vehicles and logged 300,000+ miles with no accidents. A front wheel drive vehicle with a good set of all season tires (or, further north, winter tires) is all you really need. There are few things as dangerous on snowy roads as the false sense of confidence that 4WD imparts upon a driver

I believe he/she is relocating to a hilly subdivision.... Front wheel won't cut it half the time there....
