Default Weyers Cave? Bridgewater? Broadway?

Can anyone give me the scoop on Weyers Cave? My DH, DD, and I are moving to the Harrisonburg area soon, and we've looked at some houses in the Harshbarger subdivision. We've also looked at Massanutten, H-burg, and are about to look at Broadway and Bridgewater. Any opinions yay or nay?

Thanks a bunch!

I think Bridgewater is the more desirable of the three choices. But a bit more pricey. Harrisonburg has some nice neighborhoods, and obvisouly now is a good time to buy.

I, for one, have never been very impressed with the Broadway area. Give it a look and judge for yourself...

Broadway is redneck, as for Weyers Cave-hmm, unless something has changed, stick with Bridgewater or Harrisonburg.

I currently live in Weyers Cave and used to live in Harrisonburg and Bridgewater.....there isn't a whole lot here (Weyers Cave). Easy interstate access to get to H'burg or Staunton. Harsberger subdivision is crowded, not much yard. If you can find something outside of that subdivision though it is nice. The only issue with Weyers Cave is that you are close to everything.....but you have to drive to almost everything. The plus side is Weyers Cave = Augusta County = Lower tax rate on house.

Agree that Broadway has never impressed me, though it is starting to put up some nice homes recently

Harrisonburg has its neighborhoods....some are much better than others, don't look at 2-3 homes there and think that the whole town is like that, it is a lot more diverse than the other choices you mentioned.

Bridgewater is probably the most desireable. I just sold our house there 2 years ago and moved to Weyers Cave. I really liked Bridgewater, nice quiet town but has everything you need and close to H'burg for the things it doesn't offer. Pretty expensive though.

You may want to look at towns like Grottoes as well. Not a bad commute to Harrisonburg and town ammenities rival that of Bridgewater.....just different school district. You will get more house for your buck vs B'water
