HELP! does my perfect weather exist in Virginia?
Looking for my idea of "perfect" weather.
4 distintly different seasons, with lots of color changing leaves in the fall.
ANY type of winter.
ANY winds or storms.
summer NOT over the 80's with LOW humidity.
does this exist in Michigan, and if so, where?
THANK YOU MUCH!

I think you're a victim of cut and paste because you refer to Michigan But anyway.
Low humidity doesn't exist east of the Mississippi. Thank goodness. You also posted in Utah and Arizona. I would think Utah would be your best bet. Michigan would have 4 seasons but Winter would be chief among them, and Spring, Summer and Fall would be much shorter. However, Michigan would tend to be quite humid and extremely buggy. Extremely buggy. Arizona wouldn't have 4 distinct seasons, at least in my opinion. Both Utah and Arizona however are dulled with respect to landscape colors. They are beautiful, to be sure, but in my mind they're like beautiful paintings made with a very limited set of paint colors. Whenever I'm out West for a time I'm always happy to come back East.
I've got a friend in Smithfield, UT and he gets 4 seasons. You can check out his blog at My Hunting Dog Training Blog and look through his dated archives to get a sense of weather.
Where I am in Boones Mill, VA, it is delightfully warm during the summer with summer days reaching into the 90s. Humidity varies but it would never be described as low humidity except during dry periods such as this one we are experiencing in August. During the Fall you have gorgeous colors here. Our Spring is amazing. Winter will see some snow but it doesn't hang around for more than 1-3 days at a time. We only get about 7 days during the entire winter where it won't rise above 32F.
Near Blacksburg and Floyd, VA it rarely climbs into the 90s. Both are only about an hour from us but they're up on the Appalachian Plateau and it's always about 6-8F colder over there.
Springtime in Boones Mill:
Summer in Boones Mill:
Fall in Boones Mill:
Winter in Boones Mill is mostly this:
But sometimes this:
Hope this helps,
Sean

Here in central Virginia you really do not get much of a winter at all.

Hi all -
Willing to move to any state to get my perfect weather.
Job avilability does not matter, as I travel for my job to different states, and where I leave from is a non issue.
But not in all my travels have I found the weather I want. (allthough I do not really stay long in any one place for my job, so It is kind of hard to tell).
My special love is storms, (wind and rain, not the Dorathy kind). I love winter, leaves turning bright collors in the fall, and can not stand hot summers. Above 90 I just can not deal with. HATE humidity.
Thank you all for the responses!

I don't think "perfect" weather exists anywhere!
Virginia does have 4 seasons, some are just shorter than others! And with the weather ever-changing, who knows about snow! We used to get some hefty snowfalls, but haven't in the past several years (Yea!!! I HATE snow!) Unless you are in the mountains, humidity will affect the entire East coast to some degree!

Well I'm in the Northern Valley up by Winchester having moved from Florida over a year ago and some of the thunderstorms we've had here rival what we saw in Florida in intensity.... Horizontal rain and all.... Doesn't happen every day, but it happened on at least 5 occasions this last spring into summer...

Here is a link to a map of tornadoes in Virginia from 1950 to 2000 to give you an idea of where the least number of tornadoes occur.

If being remote is not an issue, check out Highland County, Virginia. I lived there for 6 years. Though there are some summer days over 80, there are usually not a lot. Even when it is hot during the day, it cools considerably at night. There were times in the summer when a sweater or sweatshirt was needed after dark. The area is sparsely populated, high elevation, and rural.
