Default Ruther Glen?

Could someone please give me a little info on Ruther Glen, VA? I will be transferring up to VA in late Feb. and have seen some nice houses for rent there with good price ranges. I have two small children so I want a friendly little town. We're from SC so we'd like something outside the big cities. Any info will be appreciated.

It's small... I wouldn't call it a town.

I'd recommend going just one more exit on I-95, and check out the Ladysmith area... two new developments are going in (Ladysmith Village and Pendalton) and there are two lake communities (Lake Land'or and Lake Caroline). Ladysmith is growing, and will be a very nice town in a few years.

Anyways, as far as Ruther Glen goes, it's mostly just a truck stop... I wouldn't live there in a million years. (but everyone has their own preferences)
