Default Good places to eat & drink in the South Boston/Chase City/Keysville/Clarksville area?

Hello all! This is my first post in this forum.

I'm going to be visiting my family in Southside Virginia at the end of this month. Does anyone have a recommendation of a restaurant in or near South Boston, Chase City, Keysville, or Clarksville? Any type of food, we're just looking for good food.

Also, how likely is it that I'll find craft beer in the local stores, bars & restaurants? What are the good local brews to look for? My family has lived there for years, but they're not interested in craft beer. I'm hoping to expand their horizons a little!

Thank you,

Rob

Default Places to eat

There are a couple nice restraunts in South Boston, Four Oaks and Bistro 1888. They are vey close to each other, maybe a half mile apart. In the neighboring town of Halifax (about 5 miles north of SoBo) is a restraunt called Molasses Grill, they have a pretty neat menu. I don't really know much about any speciality beers that may be at any of these. I normally just stick to Coors Light.

Thanks, wahoo69! My brother drinks Coors Light too. I've seen some posts about local microbrews in the Roanoke forum here, so I guess they aren't unknown.

I'd found Bistro 1888 on the web; now I'll check out Four Oaks and Molasses Grill!

We ended up at the Lamplighter in Clarksville, which we all enjoyed.

And I found some good beer in the supermarket in Chase City. There was one brewed in Virginia, but I ended up with Sam Adams Summer Ale.
