New student in Blacksburg, VA (apartments, for rent, safe area)

I am a new student in the English Language Institute of Virginia Tech, and I will be arriving to Blacksburg on 8th of August.

-Please I need your help to know what are the good and safe areas for rent an apartments which are near to the institute and Polytechnic university?

-What about the University of virginia Polytechnic from every thing? because I'm planing to get the master degree from it.

My bf went to VA Tech and I have a lot of friends that go there too...It is a great school, very large one too. The football season is amazing...that town breathes eats and sleeps Hokies. I always come down on the weekends for the games. Main st. is very popular b/c of all of the bars.

Thanks so much 4 your valuable information, I'm an international student from middle east and it will be the first time in my life i visit united states of America.

When I ask one of my friends who was in USA before, she prefered ( Virginia ). that's why i choose it.

although Blacksburg is almost a small town, but i hope that i like it.
