night life in Fredericksburg or Stafford? (nightlife, dinner, places to go)

Anyone know of any decent places to go on weekends? Mixed crowd and music...dancing, etc. Thanks.

For dancing... Mick's off of Route 1 in Stafford (Aquia Harbor) and Brock's in off of Sophia Street in Fredericksburg (Old Town). Mick's is newer and has bands and djs, a small dance floor, and charges a $10 cover, but it has excellent food! Brock's, on the other hand, has more room for dancing, uses a dj, and in the summer has an outside deck overlooking the river - they charge a $5 cover.

There is also Las Palmas on William Street in Fredericksburg which offers Salsa dancing and lessons (so I've been told) on Fridays and Saturdays.

I enjoy having a drink at the Firkin & Bulldog, on Route 1 in Stafford. The drinks are strong & cheap, and the music is good. Unfortunately, there is not much of scene there. I have been to Mick's, but not for the dancing, and there has always been a good scene there.

I've been to Firkin & Bulldog for dinner but never for drinks. I am told, however, they also have beer pong on Tuesday nights. Haven't participated but I hear that it is a good time!

Fredericksburg has NO IDEA how to maintain a "nightlife"...don't know why, either! There are plenty of folks around here who would LOVE to have a nice place, with good music to dance to....almost every thing starts SOOOOOOO late! 10pm is too late, IMO, to get started....I mean, we'll go until 2 am, but only if we start around 9!
Brocks is the 20-something hang-out....
