Reckless by speed in Wythe VA (Wytheville: insurance, lawyer, car)

I am from NY and got Reckless driving ticket in Wytheville VA, 90mph for limit of 65. It may sound as same old crap but honestly, I drove all NY to VA within speed limit, and It was that only worst timeframe when I unintentionally went overspeed and was made to pull over. Got ticket and cop asked to call up a number written on tkt for fine costs. I haven't been fined anytime earlier (Clean driving history) and reckless by speed appeared speeding tkt. But googling shows its Criminal offense, jail, $2500 etc....enough to break me. Can someone share what options I have?
1. Drive 10hrs, Attend trial, apologize and mercy h'onor might reduce fine. Don't know wht to say to judge? Plea guilty / not guilty..
2. Skip personal appearance and have lawyer. His fees? and can he reduce charge?
3. Or, mail back summon and get tainted? fines? Was thinking of writing a letter of not being reckless but yes speedy. But don't know if any1 will give a look, leave reading it...

You really should come back here and tell the judge how you unintentionally lost control of your car just long enough to hit 90 in a 65 at the very second a cop just happened to be close enough to clock you.

Try to get it reduced to an "improper equipment" by either getting a lawyer or attending the court date on the back of the ticket and writing a letter to the Judge. Counties have different ways of doing this so maybe before hand it might be best. Either way, improper equipment is the way to go. No insurance penalty or big fines. Good luck man
