Best driving route to OH
Can anyone help me out with what our best route, driving-wise, would be from Bridgewater/Harrisonburg to North of Dayton area. We just moved here this past summer and not really sure what direction would be best: going north then west or south then north-west. We will be driving a min-van with two small kids, so fast direct route is ideal.
thanks!

My guess would be 95 to 80. Rand McNally has the best driving directions. Much better than mapquest.

It would be easier to help if you mentioned where in OH you were heading.

I did, but you might have read it as Dayton, VA. We are going to just north of Dayton, OH area.

I'd take I-81 south to I-64 west, and exit just past Charleston, WV to US 35, which takes you straight to Dayton.

I've gotten a few mapping sites that say to go over 33 like this:
Rand McNally Driving Directions
Will this work? This is a different route than we've used before. anything we should be concerned about going this way?

I drive over to the Charlottesville area from Parkersburg,WV often and it's better to go I-64. Going from Harrisonburg to Elkins,WV on RT 33 you go across the mountains and the roads are pretty curvy. I've tried both ways and I-64 is quicker.

33 to 50 is a nice drive, if you are not in a hurry. We took 50 back from our visit out west and we both enjoyed it. Nice scenery and the little towns every 40+ miles was kinda neat. We stayed overnight in Bridgeport,WV and the folks were very nice.
