Default Looking to move to VA

Hello, we are a family living in central Florida not too far from Orlando, Florida. We have all been looking to move away, and we've agreed on the fact that Virginia is pretty good, through the common facts we know about it. I am working from home so that's not a factor yet - but I will only be on the job for about another year-1 1/2 years. I work in the phone business (I'm working for AT&T right now). Also, my husband is in the computer business, now working in computer support. We prefer buying as opposed to renting out a single home. We are willing to spend between $250k-$350k. We have two kids, 14 and 11, who would prefer public schools although private schools are not out of the question. We would be looking for a "small town feel-small town excitement" type of thing. Low crime and good schools are very important, obviously. We like town activities but aren't looking for anything in particular. We don't want to be more than 30 miles from the beach and must be very close to a river or canal leading to a river with good fishing (for the hubby). Also, I forgot to mention this before, we have 4 cats and 1 dog. There most also be an airport closeby. And we don't want to be too awfully close to D.C. - an hour away is fine. And there must be a hospital nearby (absolutely no more than 25 minutes).

Is the perfect place for us in Virginia? If so, where? And if not, what would you suggest?

I think Ashland, Richmond or Colonial Heights , there are lots of good parks and good schools except in the actual city of Richmond and lots of fishing and water sports. Home prices are good and there are a lot of choices. Richmond and surrounding areas would have job opportunities for you both. Good Luck!I may be moving to Colonial Heights this winter, I am hoping to restart my petsitting business and wonder if the area would be a good for that. Also , the closer you get toward D. C., the more expensive it is, as well as more crime and traffic is very heavy. Colder too.

Hi. I'm looking for any information of the Gaynelle Wise family. She had a brother named Bo (which could have been a nickname - I'm not sure.) They lived in Jewel Ridge, just outside of Richlands, Va. Their parents were Paul and Mary Atwell Wise. Please help me find info on them. We lost track of each other when we moved.

Hi lovestory, you want to be in Hampton Roads, either Va. Beach or Chesapeake.

You can get a home for that price. Close to the beach. Public schools are considered very good and highly sought after. We have the intercoastal water way right between VB and Chespeake and we have back bay for easy bass fishing, etc. We have great hospitals in the area, and Norfolk International Airport. I think you will like it!!
